The Mental Health Housing Foundation’s
Renton Triplex consists of 3 units in a
wood frame building, one 2-bedroom unit,
and two 1-bedroom units. There is a
separate coin operated laundry room
available to all the tenants. To qualify for
tenancy a household must have one member
enrolled in the public mental health system
and income no greater than 30% of
the median income in King County.
In practice the households at this location
have incomes at less than 17% of the
median income. All are enrolled in the
mental health system.
Fact: Mental illnesses strike individuals in the prime of their lives,
often during adolescence and young adulthood. All ages are susceptible, but the
young and the old are especially vulnerable.
